What Makes the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend So Special?

The Philadelphia Marathon Weekend is one of North America’s top running festivals, known for its electric energy, passionate crowds, and lightning-fast course. Every November, thousands of runners hit the streets for one of four races: the Philadelphia Marathon, the Dietz & Watson Half Marathon, the Rothman Orthopaedics 8K, and the Nemours Children’s Run.

Whether you’re going for a personal best or soaking up the vibes in University City and Manayunk, this weekend has something for every kind of runner. The course is mostly flat and fast — a favorite for Boston Qualifiers — and finishes at the legendary Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
